FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK
PLANS FOR OUR PARISH DURING THESE TIMES
As you are most likely aware, the Bishop has called for no public sacrifice of the Mass for the foreseeable future. How this will affect our parish life remains to be seen.
Following are some points:
No public celebration of the Mass. The Masses will be said in private, and the special intentions of the Masses for that day will be offered.
The church will be open during the day. No public Stations of the Cross (books will be available for anyone wishing to pray the stations)
The John Paul II Adoration Chapel will remain open. No CCD classes until further notice.
All small groups will be cancelled.
Candidates and Catechumens will come into the Church on Easter. How this will take place remains a work in process.
Funerals: Funerals will be immediate family only, with a private viewing before the celebration of the Mass (immediate family only) and burial at the cemetery. There will be no parish hosted funeral lunches.
Weddings: TBD. Our next wedding is planned for mid- May. We will make plans accordingly for these celebrations.
Baptisms: Please contact the parish office to discuss baptisms. These will be private family events.
Holy Week: Palms will be blessed, and placed in the entrance of the church for the faithful to pick up. Easter celebrations, as of right now, will be a small scale event. Catechumens and Candidates with their sponsors for the Vigil Mass; Easter morning will be a private Mass.
We will continue preparing a Parish Bulletin. They will be available in the entrance of the church.
The weekly homily will be recorded and available online.
Please check our parish website and the bulletin for further announcements.
