Why is it called Mercy Day? On August 18th, 2002 Pope John Paul II consecrated the whole world to the Divine Mercy from The Divine Mercy Sanctuary in Krakow-Lagiewniki, the site of St. Faustina's tomb. This day is meant to remind us of God's merciful love for all of us.
